Attribution & licensing
Findaflush is built on open data and open-source software. This page lists every upstream we rely on and the rules we attach to derivative or sponsored content.
Map
- Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database License (ODbL). Findaflush attributes every map tile in the lower-right map control and on this page.
- Map renderer: MapLibre GL JS (BSD-3-Clause).
- Tile delivery: development uses the OpenStreetMap tile server within its acceptable-use policy. Production deployments swap to a paid tile provider via
NEXT_PUBLIC_MAP_STYLE_URL.
Toilet data
- OpenStreetMap-derived records require ODbL attribution and share-alike review before any public export.
- Official launch-city feeds retain their own open-data licence terms; we record per-record provenance on every toilet so downstream consumers can comply.
- User-submitted reports feed our confidence model; they are stored under our Terms.
Sponsored content policy
- Every sponsored record is labelled Sponsored both in the result list and on the top pick card. There is no silent placement.
- Sponsorship raises a toilet's rank only when it would already be a relevant match. Sponsors cannot insert toilets that are out of range or closed.
- The sponsorship reason is shown beside the listing. Click-through is for navigation only — we do not share user location with sponsors.
Open-source dependencies
- Next.js, React, MapLibre GL JS, Lucide icons, Fraunces (OFL).
- Full SBOM available in our repository's lockfile.
